Any 6th, 7th, or 8th grade girls or boys interested in participating in a summer golf program need to see Mr. Jason Smith in room C23. No golf experience is neccesary and clubs will be provided for those who don't have any.

The end of the school year is approaching soon so all books will be due back in the library by Friday, May 18. Also, please take care or your fines and/or missing books before the end of the school year.

Student's if you have earned a consequence of lunch detention or after school detention, time is running out to serve the numerous accured lunch detentions.


Therefore, if you have more than 10 lunch detentions to serve before the last day of school you will need to meet with Ms. Crowder, to schedule after school detention(s). Additionally, after Friday, May 11, 2012 lunch detention will not be an option if it is not already scheduled.


Anyone who has not satisfied office detentions by Monday, May 21, 2012 will be assigned detention prior to attendance at the dance and other fun events on the last day of school, Thursday, May 24, 2012.


Please see Ms. Crowder to get detentions scheduled. Thank You.

8th grade students who have not taken the Computer-Career Class this year need to complete the "I Have A Plan Iowa" career plan. Those 8th graders have been assigned to complete this requirement on 3 consecutive Mondays. If you are one of those students, your name and assigned day is posted on the windows in the science hallway. It is mandatory by educational law that you complete this requirement. Eighth grade students are responsible to check the posting to see if they need to attend a make-up session.

Rivercity Youth Football: Is for students between the ages of 7 thru 14 interested in playing youth tackle football & cheerleading. Registration dates are May 12 at A.L. High School - Punt/Pass/Kick competition at 9:00 a.m.. May 19 - Pride Parade - See booth at Bayless Park after the parade. July 14 - A.L. High School 10:00 a.m. official day to register. Flyers are in the office.

It is time to create a design for the 2012-2013 Agenda Cover. Our theme is "School Pride". Please submit your drawing on a 8 1/2 x 11 sheet of paper. It can be in full color. The winning design will be on the 2012-13 agenda and on the school website. Deadline is May 11th. Turn your designs into Mrs. Pope the art teacher in room C12.

Babysitting 101: Friday May 11 from 4:00 - 8:00p.m. Enjoy a pizza party while learning the basics of babysitting. Sat. May, 12th The first session will be from 9-12pm. We will break for lunch (feel free to bring a sack lunch) and begin again at 1pm, ending at 4pm. The cost is $69.00. The class is located at IWCC in Looft Hall in Room 010. Students please remember to follow the dress code. All shorts are to be mid thigh, no spaghetti straps, tank tops, back outs or cleavege. No A t shirts for boys all tank tops must cover shoulders for all. Teachers please remind students to follow the dress code.

Students: You are not allowed to take pictures with your cell phones, I-POD or any other device on school grounds.


No sports bags or book bags are allowed to be on student's person. Please put these things in your locker. Girls are allowed to carry your purse with you at all times.

No coats are allowed to be worn during the school day.

Attention: Kirn students are not to be on Hoover Elem. grounds . . including the playground unless picking up a sibling. Those waiting to meet younger siblings need to wait outside the school and away from the doors.
