Synthesizing information is when you combine what you already know
with what you have just learned. It is
like the light bulb is clicking on in your head. You have made a big AHA!
Take a look at
EQUATIONS TUG OF WAR, you can make connections with what you have learned previously about
equations and come up with a strategy on how to solve this problem. You may question how to start solving the problem looking
back to see if you have ever solved a similar problem. The next step you will probably do would be
to visualize or draw out what each side of the equation
looks like. You can also predict which side will win looking at which side
won the two previous rounds. Each
round is important to be able to present the solution to the
problem.
Using all the strategies you may be able to relate this to writing out
actual equations to help you solve the problem. AHA!
This is an attention grabbing problem that relates itself to many of
the equations you have been solving throughout the year!
Now you have a new perspective on how to solve equations. Here is a new problem to work on using what
you have just learned and what you already know about equations. |
