School Newsletter

Welcome to the Woodrow Wilson Middle School’s web page.  We are entering a truly historic school year with the addition of our first 6th grade class.  Woodrow Wilson was built in 1961 and was home to 7th, 8th, and 9th grade students.  Over the years many changes occurred including, the implementation of the middle school teaming philosophy, the school renovation from 1996-1998, the changing of the mascot, and now the addition of the 6th grade to become a three year middle school

As we continue to work toward our goal of becoming a “Blue Ribbon” Educational Institution, we are focusing on providing Wilson students the highest quality educational experiences through, outstanding and caring teachers, quality classroom instruction, enhanced technology in all curriculum areas, along with a wide array of before and after school activities designed to help our young people develop into outstanding students and more importantly outstanding citizens.

I am very proud of our accomplishments in the past and look forward to continued success.

Joel Beyenhof

Principal

CAP students participate in a variety of activities throughout all four years of high school including after school College Prep Hour, fun Saturday Sessions twice per semester, specialized assistance in preparation for college, and enriching summer academies. The end result is not only being more prepared for college but also a $1000 scholarship from the Iowa West Foundation (as well as priority consideration for future scholarships)! Only 25 students will be selected to participate -- priority will be given to those students who demonstrate a financial need OR who will be first in their family to attend college.
