
The CBCS Board of Education was selected to receive the first T.E.Davidson Award of Excellence to be given each year by the Iowa Association of School Boards. Judges listed the following board accomplishments:
Establishing a district-wide focus on preparing students for success through strategic planning and community involvement.
Developing clear budget priorities and policies that focus resources where they will have the greatest impact in helping students.
Supporting a broad array of innovations that help troubled students, such as dropouts, or elementary students who aren't learning to read.
Advocating for the needs of students by reaching out to business, private agencies, legislators and others.
