Superintendent Richard H. Christie introduced this years Teacher of the Year as Jean Regan, 9th grade English teacher at Abraham Lincoln High School and this years Support Staff Member of the Year as Rex Rector, Head Custodian at Bloomer Elementary School.C. He also noted that Deb Hernandez, 4th grade teacher at Hoover Elementary School was awarded the Sams Club Teacher of the Year and Mark Schultz, 3rd grade teacher at Longfellow Elementary awarded the Walmart Teacher of the Year.

BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of Directors approves the following consent items:A. Approves the tentative lists of graduating seniors as attached (Pages 17-25) for issuance of diplomas, with a final list of graduates certified by the principals to be presented for Board approval in June, 2003.
B. Gratefully acknowledges and accepts the gift from the Council Bluffs Rotary Club of $1,000 for the 6th grade track meet.
C. Gratefully acknowledges and accepts the gift from Bill Hughes of recreational equipment and office furniture to PACT School and the Tucker Center.XVI. PERSONNELD. Gratefully acknowledges and accepts the gift from Kay Clouser of 30 boxes of copy paper to be distributed to District schools.
E. Authorizes the administration to enter into student teaching contracts with teacher education colleges and universities for the 2003-2004 school year.

BE IT RESOLVED that a Closed Session, as provided in Section 21.5 (1) (i) of the Open Meetings Law, be conducted to evaluate the professional competency of an individual whose performance is being considered to prevent needless and irreparable injury to that individual’s reputation as that individual has requested a closed session.
